Carol Nunnelley

Carol Nunnelley

Carol Nunnelley is the APME projects director. She is the founding editor of NewsTrain. She also directs the National Credibility Roundtables, which work with local newsrooms to communicate with the public on important journalistic issues and apply other media credibility findings. Nunnelley was the managing editor of The Birmingham (Ala.) News and co-chaired the Alabama Center for Open Government. Carol may be contacted at cnunnelley@ap.org

Elaine Kramer

Elaine Kramer

Elaine Kramer is a project manager for NewsTrain. She was managing editor of The Orlando Sentinel from 2001 to 2004. Before that, she was managing editor and then editor of The Morning Call in Allentown, Pa. She held various editing positions at The Hartford Courant in Connecticut over 12 years, and previously worked at The Louisville Courier-Journal; the Belleville, Ill., News-Democrat; and as a Peace Corps volunteer in Sierra Leone. Teresa Cooper

Teresa Cooper

Teresa Cooper is the program assistant for NewsTrain. Previously she was the Manager of Human Resources for the University of Virginia Health Services Foundation, and an Administrator/Academic Advisor at Excelsior College. She received her BA in English from the State University of New York at Binghamton and her MBA from the University of Virginia. Teresa may be contacted at tgcooper@comcast.net


Lillian Swanson led NewsTrain during 2003-2006 and was instrumental in the project's development. She now teaches for NewsTrain, and continues to advise NewsTrain as a volunteer. Swanson is online editor at The Detroit News.
